Working from my research, I discovered the poetry the artists in the Dada period created such as Hugo Ball. He would make poems that don't make sense and use words that were made up. Although I used internet research, I watched a video on the BBC website and it was much more useful as it explained the ways the artists expressed their views on Dada. In the video they cut up parts from newspapers and certain words they found interesting, placed them all in a bag then shook it up. They then chose the cut outs randomly and placed them next to each other to create a very unique and weird poem. I was inspired by this so I created my own. This is the result I got, a mad and very meaningless poem, however it has a humorous side as some of the words are very silly and put together makes it even more senseless and strange.
Another experiment I did using Dada was using the words again. However with less detail, I simply cut all the words up and placed them into a bag. Shook them up and tipped them out randomly onto a surface. It created a weird selection of sentences such as "the need to texturising" and "I go from the corner smudge". In some way this created humour and a strange feel to the sentences, I will use this in future work for inspiration and ideas for my art work.
This is my own design of a Dada collage. I used newspapers and magazines to create this montage, I chose faces and strange objects to use with in my work to make it quirky and strange. By doing this, its showing I am understanding the theme of Dada and the way certain artists create photo montage. From doing this it has lead me to use this technique with in my future work as it helps my inspiration towards other art work I do.
