Purpose of my Art and artists

Yves Klein's Purpose/Theory:

Klien's theory was all to do with his colour theme ultramarine blue. He got this idea from looking into the sky and noticing the "immaterial space surrounding the universe". He noticed the colour tones of the sky and the reflected shades of the sea to the sky. This theory became quite symbolic to him and he stuck by it throughout his art period. Another theory he had was through his religion or as people have said over the years, Klein was a catholic and had very strong views on catholism and the virgin mary. He linked his work with the virgin Mary's robe from the renaissance paintings as these inspired him and gave him a purpose in his work.

Haris Lithos's Purpose/Theory:

Haris's theory and purpose is very different to Yves as his meaning to his art work have more of a romantic side to it where as Klein's is linked with colour. His quote he uses which in some way is his inspiration/theory is "were all searching for someone whose demons play well with ours". He used this quote and printed the buttocks of women to in some way attract them and draw them in to helping him with his work. I find this theory slightly strange however I love his work so I reason with his purpose and see beyond that.

De Stijl's Purpose/Theory:

De Stijl's purpose is very clear. It is similar to Klein's, he had a colour theory and only used primary colours and geometric forms this was because he enjoyed the meaning of mathematical structures and the contrasts of the colours he chose to put together. His main purpose however for his work is that he enjoyed using the colours and in his words it felt like it was a utopia for him and he felt like it gave him harmony and order.

My Purpose/Theory:

However after looking into my artists mainly for this stage and discovering their meaning and purpose to their work, is has helped me decide on my theory and purpose. When creating and designing my art work I feel very free and relaxed when working with the materials I love. Colour and boldness is something I always use, which makes me wonder why I like it so much, I think it is the fact that it is bright and shocking and stands out when comparing it to other objects or materials. My theory seems to be colour but in a more wider range than De Stijl's as all colours interests me where as De Stijl's are more narrowed down, I have no favourites or preferences when it comes to colour, they all excite me. The styles and techniques I use are wild and abstract this is linked with my purpose as I feel if my work doesn't surprise me or I think its to boring I feel it has no purpose. The purpose with in my art is so shock and to excite, I also enjoy making people think of the story behind it and why I did something, leaving it a mystery makes it a theory and a purpose for me.
