To do this experiment I had to buy a few things as college couldn't provide them. I bought a set of three darts, some water balloons and marble balloons. Marble balloons had different colour bits on the balloon and as you blow them up it looks like paint is on it. I decided to get these just to see what they would look like and if they would work. I began this project by mixing paint and water together to create a slightly less this feel to the paint as I wanted it to splatter and project everywhere. I filled the balloons with different coloured paints and used the funnel to neatly put the paint in the balloons, then I pinned them onto the canvas fabric separated from one another so that all the space was filled.
The out come of this experiment was in my option not as good as I thought it was going to be, but it did help me know what to do better next time. For example I needed to water down the paint much more and avoid using yellow ink as it didn't show on the paper because of it having water in it. Also I found it harder to pop the normal balloons with the darts as they were too thick, the water balloons popped much easier as they are a lot thinner. To see what it looked like, I placed a white A1 sheet underneath the balloons to get the affect of the paint splatters on the paper.
As the last piece of art work didn't turn out how I wanted it to, I tested another set of water balloons filled with paint and water. I used a variety of colours such as, blue, orange, red, yellow, green and purple, these chosen colours worked well as they were all very vibrant and bold. Same as before I put a sheet of paper below to observe the outcome on paper when all the balloons had popped. However they were looking correct when they were pinned to the wall but when they popped it looked worse.
In an attempt to make my work look better I used the rest of the acrylic paint and threw the pots all over it to make it brighter and more exciting. The paint also thickened the ink on the floor, so hopefully it should dry quicker and harder. For my next idea I am going to dod this all again but with watered down paint but not too much water, and use water balloons instead of normal ones. Also I will use the paintings from the floor as a new background for my utopia as this would be an ideal view for me. I may even add it too my past work with the hanging wooden blocks, I will record my decisions.
To begin this experiment I tested out water balloons with ink and water inside them, a water balloon with water and acrylic paint in and normal balloons with paint and water in. I used the funnel to fill them all up except the water balloons, I used the tap for them as I added much more water in them than the others. Some were messier than others but they all seemed evenly spaced out. I also pinned the canvas fabric to the wall so that it was well secured, same with the balloons.

After they all popped I looked down at the paper and realised I had put too much water in the balloons and it had made the paper very wet and soggy. This was another bad result in my opinion but at least I now know what not to do. I do like how the colour have lightly blended though and how some areas have stayed white. I am still leaving it to dry, just to see what it would look like if it does dry that is...
