Roll up banner brief

We have been given a new brief to design a roll up banner for the advertisement of the college art department for the new upcoming students. We are going to use for a main background the wall that our class designed using ink and acrylic paint. Images of the wall are shown below. After being given the brief I have researched into the vertical banners and some other designs and how they advertise things using them, in particular I like the two examples I've chosen as they are very artistic and abstract which is the style I will be aiming for when taking the photos for the background of the banner. The colour scheme will be as bright as possible as the aim is to attract new students. Multicoloured and vibrant colours are my main ideas but colours such as black and white with a little bit of other colours can be powerful too. The measurements for the design will be 120 x 300mm on an A3 document portrait, this will give me a digital look of the design and after completing my two or more designs I will print them off to have a good look at them and hopefully improve them some how.

The photos below are of the wall we have designed in the art department building. We used paint and ink when designing this, we added the dart bored just as an extra object for the wall and something to aim at. A few of us added hand prints and made paint bombs using cling film so that it splatted onto the wall. Some of us added water to the paint so that it ran slowly down the wall but with several different colours such as white, red, purple and many others. For the background of the banner I am going to focus on the wall but not the whole of it, I will zoom into certain areas of the wall that I find interesting and some that are very suited for the banner, I will experiment.
