I started of by saving the original photo to my files and dragged it into the photoshop document. I then cropped it to size and rotated it CCW so that it was facing the correct way. After adjusting the photo to the right angle I then duplicated my layers twice, by clicking the menu button and scrolling down to the duplicate option, then naming the first layer "Lighten" was the next step and same with the second layer but named "Darken". To the lighten layer I changed the opacity to 60% then to the darken layer I changed the opacity to 40%, this made the picture less clear and slightly blurred. Shortly after, I began to start fully editing it and chose the filter option and went down to Blur, Gaussian Blur then it created the look to my face as shown below in the 2nd image. Lastly I merged the layers together and formed a final image, there is still work and experimenting needed as I am going to test out other images and facial expressions to see how they'd look compared to others, and even look at using the paint option and the curves and levels of the image. Id like to add some kind of colour to it weather its using the paint to or fill tool, I also need to create a white background to it so that it blends in well with the poster background.
