After creating the base of my costume I then started to tare up strips of newspaper to cover the chicken mesh and form a solid structure of my skirt. I laid several strips of newspaper on the table and poured some glue out. Secondly I got a paint brush and covered the strips of paper with glue and gently pressed them onto the wire. I then repeated this step three times so it was very solid and ready to be painted on. I am going to mix sand, paint and glue together to create a sandy paste. I will make an orange, yellow and brown as these colours are colours of certain forgien houses such as spanish and french buildings. I am going to do this as it links with the texture of buildings and will have a stone look to it. However this ties in with a certain artist Franz Kline as his work is patchy and runs paint down it, so when I am painting my skirt I will think about how he works.
