This is one of my second idea for the poster. I got the large R from research and then linked it to one of the British values e.g Mutual respect. I made the letter R bigger than the others so it is noticeable and stands out. However at this point I felt it was too simple so I chose a photo of a man with a fist in the air from the internet and went around it with the pen tool. I did this as it symbolises how he is feeling about respect and how many people in the UK feel about it. I feel it brings the message across that if "you give it, you get it". There is still much room for improvement and more progression for this poster. However I will keep looking into minimal poster design as I feel this is a big help towards my work.
After researching deeper into minimal poster design I found these three posters that gave me more of an idea about changing some of the features and objects on my poster. I felt that the grey background was dull and not standing out enough in my opinion, so I edited it to a dark purple then added a very pale yellow rectangle on the bottom of the poster to symbolise light coming through. I did this to push people to give more respect to others and hoping that they can see it from another point of view. Even though I've experimented with new colours and new features I still feel I can improve it. From my research I've used the poster from the Disney film Ratatouille for my main reference as I find the fact how the main image is linked with the background effective so thats why I have used it within my poster for the British core value Respect.

After experimenting with several shapes and colours for this poster I have completed it. When trying out different tones and colours I realised doing that has taken away the impact of the actual image itself. So for the main colour I have chosen black as its bold adds more impact and creates more of an impact on the letter "R" and the rest of the word. Also included in this poster is a slogan "give it to get it" this is so that the viewer understands the message of the poster and realises the impact of respect and how it needs to be shown more often. When placing the flag and the college logo I decided to experiment and put the flag next to the slogan as this makes it more noticeable, where as the logo is still important but isn't as obvious. After looking into a lot of research for this poster it has helped me in a big way as minimal poster design has given me ideas and has engaged me to continue this work with my future poster designs.
