My fourth finished guide in the style of Bauhaus

I got this idea from researching into Bauhaus designs as I was running out of ideas so I referred back to my research. However I looked into more of the colourful and abstract designs as they attracted me to use them more, as this links to a younger audience so it will be suited to the guide for the college. As shown in the photo I put many Bauhaus designs around my front cover to bounce of ideas to create a final design. I began by looking at what shapes he uses, hexagons and squares stood out the most to me so I experimented with them. I made several hexagons and merged them together. I changed the colour of each one and edited the opacity for a more modern effect instead of the colours being so heavy and bold. Finally I grouped the hexagons together and duplicated ten of them to create the background.

Secondly, I grouped all the hexagons together and placed the photo into photoshop. I then experimented with the curves icon and the brightness. This allowed me to make the photo more attractive and modern I did this by dragging the dot along the line to enhance it and create a lighter effect.

This is my final design. When I transferred the photo into illustrator I then outlined certain corners in black to make it stand out more. I then chose a simple and quite thin text as this guide is a more formal and modern idea. I'm happy with the final design as I feel its very different to my other ideas and I am pleased with the choice of colours. However I feel I could improve on the text as it is very bland so in the end I made the text only slightly bolder.
