Manifestation Window

Starting the manifestation window was difficult, as I had a limited amount of ideas for the window. I first thought of including construction tools such as, hammers, spanners and nails. However I felt that was too predictable and simple, so I researched into modern buildings and famous buildings. I discovered that using the Sydney Opera House is a good choice because it is an abstract looking building and is very famous around the world. Using famous landmarks in the window will help the people choosing the course at college aim for the best, in some way its telling them that they can build anything when you put your mind to it.

When I had chosen buildings to use I placed them in illustrator and went around them with the pen tool. Seen as it needs to appeal to teenagers and adults I decided to use greys and blacks for the colour because I feel using colour on the window will make it look childish and unprofessional. As I researched more in to construction and the objects used in it, I discovered different signs that are used around construction sites and decided to include one of them in my window. As shown below I outlined a sign from a construction site, then placed it behind all of the buildings as if it was merging from behind. In my opinion after placing all the buildings correctly I decided to make it abstract and different.

After, experimenting with several other buildings and different tones of greys and blacks I finally have a finished design. To get the blue print background i researched into buildings and construction again and got the idea from an image on google and created my own blueprint. Then after finding out a second opinion of my design I decided to erase Big Ben and include the Arc De Triumph. This is because what my class mate told me i agreed with. I also made it less abstract and more modern and simple as the background was already quite busy.
