This technique was used in photoshop I will use this technique in more of my ideas for the guide. I began typing into my search engine 'textured backgrounds', it came up with many to choose. For example: stones, wood, sponge, magna and steel. I decided to choose steel. The reason I did this was because I new it would create a powerful affect and a strong looking apperiance to the viewer. Firstly to create this look, I dragged the image from google and placed it into a photoshop document. I then went on to image, adjustments and used the curves selection on the photo. This made it look slightly less bold and more black and white. I selected the photo with the wand and doubled clicked my layers box and began editing it. I held 'alt' down and slid the arrows across to certain areas of the bar and this added a rustic and strong affect to the photo.
Afterwards, I then began to look at it properly and realised I could choose a lot more detailed textured background which will add a more creative look to it such as pebbles or wood. Therefore in my private study I will attempt another go at doing this technique but with a different picture.
