Development and final idea of BLC logo brief

The Blended Learning Consortium (BLC) brief is for a company named E-learning. As soon as this brief began I felt I needed to include the colour blue somewhere in the logo. Then I began taking words from the name and research about them. The word consortium means in association with several companies, this made me think about what shapes would link. I began using circles and merged them together and overlapping slightly as shown below.

However, I also looked into the word 'Learning'. This made me think of progression and movement. So I began on looking at maps and pathways to symbolise development. Although I feel this was a good idea at the time, as I looked back at my research into bauhaus I came up with another idea. The modern colours and shapes progressed into an abstract kind of structure. I liked this idea but eventually I felt as if I could do better.

So I went back to my other ideas and developed from this. The abstract shapes flow upwards to show growth and in some way something improving. I also used the Bauhaus text in one of my ideas as I feel this is a strong font to use for the design of the logo. I think over my progression of ideas I am happy with my final logo idea especially the colours and unique shapes.
