My third finished guide

This idea began from working in the 2D room. We had been told, to create something bold and slightly random and that whatever comes to our minds at the time we should create it. So I created a very bright and colourful abstract landscape. However I included words on the branches to symbolise each word is only part of growing up and learning new things; hence why I'm using this idea for the guide to show progression and development. My research began with editing the photo using curves and selective colours in photoshop, I also changed certain types of text to find the correct one suited to this guide. 

This is my original painting before the editing began. Im very pleased with the background as I feel it is vibrant and highly positive, however I should of written the words a lot neater and fancier. I feel I need to improve on painting text as I know I need to progress in it. Therefore I will begin to experiment on painting text in different styles.  

Now, this is my final idea. Using my edited version of my painting, I screen shotted several parts of the photo and focused on bright and dark areas. I then mapped out where id place them and left spaces where each one of them were separated. I then chose my text and edited it to fit into the top right corner of the guide and the same with the years. Adding the logo and college information was simple, however I knew I needed to make it simple for a reason, as the front cover is very busy and bold, so adding a detailed back as well would be too much and confuse the design. I feel I could improve on the chosen text as I feel I still could find a more suited one.
