The first finished guide

This idea originally came from my personalised sketchbook. I didn't aim to link it to any of my work but in the end it did and my idea then progressed. Next I experimented with doing this pattern on a different surface. e.g a human hand, in order to see how the the paint would look on different textures. This gave me the idea to use this pattern as one of my survival guide ideas. Consequently I then drew the size of the guide in my sketchbook and began to paint my design as shown below.

To then get it on adobe illustrator I scanned the painting and placed it in illustrator to the correct scale of the guide. However I feel that the colours I used originally were poor and could be a lot bolder and brighter so I edited the photo in Photoshop and changed the contrasts and curves of it to create a more modern and vibrant look. Also I edited the college logo to make it black as using the original red on would not suit my design. Also when my design was placed into illustrator I then included on the bottom of the back page the information for the college such as their email, phone number and address. My overall opinion on my first design is confident as I find it very suitable to the audience and the style of the border is very appealing.
