I have developed a more complex idea for my second survival guide. As I re-thought the colours and shapes and had another look into more research, as shown below. I got the idea of the red and black theme from my research and the shapes too. I am happy with the proportion of certain shapes such as the arrows and the upside down B. However there is still room for improvement and I will continue developing more ideas and add more detail for the guide.
These photos are designs used in the style of Bauhaus. I researched these as they gave me an idea on how I could create my own adverts and posters. I found these fascinating as they caught my eyes with the chosen colours and shape styles. The design on the top left is my favourite as it is quirky and fun but still professional at the same time, the fact that it links to Bauhaus but is still advertising their own idea is very clever in my opinion and because of this I am going to design something similar to it, such as use the way they have changed the "B" in Bauhaus to a part of the design and include the red and black squares from the photo in the bottom right.
Still keeping the photos around my current design as they have helped me go towards a new colour scheme and whole new design. This is because my first initial design was poor and needed much more work. Such as a more modern look and to shaped needed to be re-thought about. For example I used the arrows to symbolise growth and progression when using the guide and chose to include a more paler background as the features were a lot more colourful and bolder. Also below you can see I have experimented on creating abstract shapes and different types of lines. I am happy with the current look of my guide however there is still room for improvement and more detail is required.
